College Projects

I made my chair out of old disused pallets. I cut the pallets to the correct size and sanded them down. I then assembled them  into the correct places. once all joined together i set Dried hydrangea's in resin, once dried i attached them to my chair to finish.
I made these glass panels using a hard glass, within each set i have enclosed brass wire to depict the shape of the beetle, i then used a variety of different glass components, some of these being; glass confetti, fine glass frit, fibre glass, hot pigments, float dichroic and a range of different wire meshes. I feel i achieved my goal of keeping the colours simple and subtle in order for the wire work to stand out.
For this piece i cast my hand to get an exact replica, i did this to create a base. I then picked the subject of construction and decided to keep a natural theme throughout. I decided to construct an acorn cup mass and a acorn shute out of copper wire.
I hand built this pot using the coil method. I then fired it to prepare it for a bronze raku glaze. Once ready i then raku fired my pot with a high reduction level to ensure the colours would be strong and effective.
